David Jones, Secretary of State for Wales, has started its journey ten days in length around North and South East Asia by meeting with representatives who are flying the flag for Welsh food and drink industry in Japan.
He met Mr Jones and representatives of Felinfoel Brewery, Penderyn Whisky, Ty Nant water and Wendy Brandon Handmade Preserves at the British Embassy in Tokyo to highlight how British food and drink companies, large and small, grow their business by exploring opportunities export.
In 2012, the Prime Minister has launched Food sub GREAT Britain to celebrate the best of British food at home and abroad. He is now a key part of the lower GREAT Britain campaign to attract businesses and visitors to Britain.
"British food is known worldwide for its quality already, and I am delighted to have the opportunity to meet representatives of the food and drinks that promote British produce from Britain overseas.
"The food and drink sector become a huge engine for growth in the UK, and it is essential that we provide the right level of support to business at home, as well as to help British food producers unlock their potential in overseas markets. "
Earlier this month, the Tokyo has held the 38th Foodex Japan 2013 show international food and beverage serving Asia's most respected food market $ 700 billion Japan and several other lucrative markets in Asia. "I am delighted to be part of this market. My customers are very enthusiastic about my product - especially marmalades. The Welsh Whisky Company Penderyn Distillery, in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons has established itself as a real tourist attraction in Wales, as well and as one of the country's most successful export business.
